Frequently asked questions

How does KaratKaddy value my gold?
Each piece is valued as the merchant's latest buyback price per gram (at your piece's purity — 999 / 916 / 750) multiplied by its weight. If a merchant hasn't published a buyback price ("Ask shop"), that piece has no computed value until a price is available.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. KaratKaddy is offline-first — your collection is stored on your device and stays available without a connection. When you're back online it syncs automatically and refreshes the latest merchant prices.
I forgot my App Lock PIN. What now?
The App Lock PIN is stored only on your device and can't be recovered. Choose "Forgot PIN" on the lock screen — this turns App Lock off and signs you out, so you can sign back in with your account password and set a new PIN.
I forgot my account password.
On the sign-in screen choose "Forgot password". We'll email you a temporary password and prompt you to set a new one on your next sign-in.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently erases your account and all of your pieces, photos and notes. It cannot be undone.
